next time, next year
if the recent Colts loss in the recent Super Bowl happened when i was younger, i would have probably faced it quite agonizingly like the blanket of extreme silence of every Spurs debacle in my romantic household. but over the years, i've come to grips with sporting reality. athletes even the best ones ultimately retire to the sunset, play in the celebrity golf circuit or pen their autobiography. however the teams move on, they might carved the same winning tradition without their former prized stars or go into liquidation. it takes a team to win a major championship. it takes one person to win a singles tennis crown. ditto with golf, or table tennis, swimming or track and field. new faces emerge every year, hopefully with enough gravitas to be the cover of a breakfast cereal box. and it's not like peyton manning is dan marino.
